Aliia Abaskanova is an Associate at Kalikova & Associates. She joined K&A in February 2024. Her areas of expertise include corporate matters, contracts, use of natural resources, acquisition of state/municipal-owned assets, and protection of IP rights. Aliia contributed to the drafting of various regulatory acts of the Kyrgyz Republic by making recommendations to the Kyrgyz Government from the perspective of the business community.

Recognition

1. Received an Honorary Diploma from the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic awarded "for active participation in the development of the economy of the republic and in honour of the professional holiday 'Entrepreneur's Day of the Kyrgyz Republic'."

2. Assisted the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of the Concept of introducing the institute of extended responsibility of manufacturers and importers of goods and packaging, later adopted on December 22, 2023.

3. Assisted the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic regarding protection of IP rights in the development of amendments to the Law on customs regulation, later adopted on August 9, 2023.

4. Assisted the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of amendments to the Law on domestic trade, later adopted on March 15, 2023.

5. Assisted the Kyrgyz Geological Agency under the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Regulation of the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of various regulatory acts in mining sector.

6. Assisted the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic in the development of amendments on issues of state regulation of prices of economic entities occupying a dominant position in the markets.

7. Received a Letter of Thanks from the International Court of Arbitration of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic awarded "for the great contribution to the development and promotion of arbitration in Kyrgyzstan and abroad".
