K&A participates in the Turkey & Central Asia Mining Investment Summit in Istanbul

On January 27-30, 2014 K&A Managing Partner Ulan Tilenbaev and lawyer Jyldyz Tagaeva took part in the Turkey & Central Asia Mining Investment Summit held in Istanbul. The Summit was organized by Mines and Money.

Within the Summit Ulan Tilenbaev and Jyldyz Tagaeva lead the pre-conference workshop on “Ensuring the granting of mining and exploration licenses and guaranteeing the security of tenure in Central Asia’s key mining countries”. Licenses, permits and the application process in Central Asia, namely in Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. Issues of effective approaches to dealing with mining industry regulators, effective methods for settling disputes over the permit and license applications, security of tenure of licenses and improvements of subsoil legislation in Kyrgyzstan were analyzed during the pre-conference workshop.
