K&A takes part in the conference “Building cooperation between concerned parties and local communities in mining”

On June 6, 2013 K&A lawyers took part in the national conference “Building cooperation between concerned parties and local communities in mining”. The conference was organized with the support of the Eurasia Fund. The main purpose of the conference was to offer recommendations on building and strengthening cooperation between state authorities, mining companies and local communities. Government authorities and representatives of local government and the business sector participated in the conference.

K&A Senior Partner Gulnara Kalikova made a presentation on “Mining companies and local communities: conflicts and ways to resolve them”. Alongside other participants K&A lawyers took part in working groups to develop recommendations for the concerned parties of the mining. Following the conference the participants adopted a resolution.
